Why hasn't anyone reported on this? While I'm usually libertarian, I know that foreign markets are not your friends. Can't wait for this, even if it means I'll spend a few more dollars at the wal-mart.

It's so nice to speak of free trade when you're selling, and forget about it when you're buying.
I wish Europe and Asia do the same. And Amerika is no longer enough to stand against them combined - or separated, in a few years. Just you wait, Amerikans :)

Nah, america has a much greater industrial capability than europe when it's profitable, and China, well, yeah, it's china. Their industrial capability mostly comes from the exploitability of their workers.
Combined, maybe, separate, no.

>>6 when it's profitable
Which is what, due to China getting expensive as people start living like us and earning like us, will stop happening.
Their industrial capability mostly comes from the exploitability of their workers.
Problem is: Have you taken a look at the number of Chinese companies that are starting every month? The number of western companies they are buying/taking over? How are salaries increasing in China? How are the Chinese demanding western lifestyles? It's a matter of time before they become like us, thus China as the cheap producer ends, thus cheap production is no longer cheap, thus we pay more while earning the same, thus we live worse so they can live better. In the end, we'll reach an equilibrium.
Of course, there's Indonesia, Nigeria, etc., but we'll eventually run out of them, and by the day that happens, I hope technology will have doubled our productivity, otherwise today's easier life is fucked and we'll gb/Modern Age plus technology.

America's day is outnumbered. China is moving up. India is taking a stage. The EU is becoming stronger. Once Russia gets its act together that will be another industrial power house on par with China. Same with the African continent when all the corruption is weeded out.
America should just accept they are not the kings of the world economy-wise soon.

Well, that's going to take some 1000 years.
