A captive in Iraq. Threatend with a videoed beheading. They let her go.
Not ten minutes later, Amerikans tried to kill her. Why? Because she didn't die. They let her go. So she must be a threat to the fasist assholes in washington. Amerika is the 4th Reich. Why does not the rest of the world stand up and say FUCK YOU, you've crossed the line? Theres some good people in the us but if the rest of us dont help them WE ARE ALL DOOMED

idiot troll.
the italians didnt coordinate with the american military, they shot up their vehicle because it was on a dangerous road that had lots of suicide car bombers ramming into checkpoints
america already apologized, italy is an ally.... it was friendly fire. tons of americans are killed by their own friendly fire as well
in short: you are stupid, now shut up.

The US millitary is great at killing but bad at making sure only bad guys get killed. This isn't an isolated incident, but it almost certainly wasn't intentional.
Why american troops are so worried and have such itchy trigger fingers is beyond me. They have vastly supperior equipment, the number of them dying daily is tiny considering their troop strength in iraq and way more iraqis (both combatants and civillians) get killed by them than the other way around. They need to toughen up and get stricter rules of engagement to stop killing randomly (themselves and civilians).

The AP is reporting that:
"The Italian journalist wounded by American troops in Iraq after her release by insurgents rejected the U.S. military's account of the shooting and declined Sunday to rule out the possibility she was deliberately targeted. The White House said it was a "horrific accident" and promised a full investigation. Meanwhile, an autopsy performed on the agent who died trying to save Giuliana Sgrena reportedly showed he was struck in the temple by a single round and died instantly"
This still could be a tragic accident, right? To continue:
" Suddenly, she said, she remembered her captors' words, when they warned her "to be careful because the Americans don't want you to return."
Sgrena wrote that her captors warned her as she was about to be released not to signal her presence to anyone, because "the Americans might intervene."
ffs. intervene for what purpose... what is this mysterious bullshit talk....
america has ZERO to gain from purposely assasinating random italian journalists.... journalists are free to roam iraq at their own risk, they can report anything they want if they are willing to risk their lives for the story in a war-zone
same as vietnam or any other war journalist situation.
if this italian journalist has uncovered some massive secret lunatic conspiracy, she is plenty alive and can report about it all she wants..... but guess what? theres no conspiracy here you gullible paranoid smacktards

170+ journalists have died in Iraq. More than Korea and Vietnam combined. Perhaps she WAS targeted (And a bullit in the temple of the man that negotiated her release sure SOUNDS targeted).
America has a great deal to gain by controlling what you see and hear. Also, Italy is the LAST country of any size except Britian that's still got troops there. And most Italians want them out.
Still, why would the US want them dead? Perhaps because releasing her might make the insurgents seem a wee bit less like the unhuman demons the reich-wing NEEDS them to be to keep selling this crap, and the dead Italian officer who negotiated the deal might keep on doing it? Very bad PR for Bush.
Don't misunderstand me, I've no sympathy for assholes who cut off people's heads. But the US can't seem to do a damn thing about taking them out. Or doesn't really want to.
If you'd bother to get your scripted talking points from someone other than a hillbilly heroin addict or a phone sex-perv, both documented LIARS, if you'd make an attempt to rebutt THE FACTS, rather than resorting to dullard parroting of propagandists, a rational person might be willing to listen. But you'll go on believing YOUR "smacktard" paranoid no matter how many Iraqis die. Do you know how many? It's plain you don't care, but what about the American soldiers? How many more must die for this lie to satisfy your Amerika Kicks Ass (to no effect) guro fantasies? Why don't you sign up? I hear recruitment's falling short.
>>Her editor, Gabriele Polo, said Italian officials told him 300 to 400 rounds were fired at the car. Italian military officials said two other intelligence agents were wounded in the shooting; U.S. officials said only one was.
there is no way that car would be in one piece after 300-400 rounds came shooting at her.....I can only see only 2 or 3 bullet holes, and plus....I'm getting these crazy ideas when I see her begging for her life, no terrorist flag, no gunmen next to her, just her alone....hmm.....*thinks*

hello tinfoil conspiracist retards. welcome to the real world
if the italians coordinated with the americans.. and she was still fired at... THEN there would be a conspiracy
otherwise there is something called curfew, it is instituted during the night hours on all the main roads especially the main baghdad road where most of the checkpoint suicide-carbombs have happened
during curfew anyone who hasnt recieved explicit permission from the military coordinating entity is subject to be shot at... very. very. simple.
all the italians needed to do was request a military escort, and they would have been riding either in a US military vehicle or flanked by US military vehicles.. there would be no possible accidents then with proper long-distance night-time visual ID of the vehicle coupled with fore-knowledge of the particular italian operation at the coordinating center of military operations

man you guys are nuts. Its not on purpose, its just that the US millitary is full of retards with no balls.
1. They hide behind heavy armor and massive fire power yet will shoot randomly in the dark knowing that there are civilians, women and children, present because god forbid a bullet may scrape their skin through their body armor.
2. They are willing to bomb, fire missles, mortars, cruise missles at targets just because some guy gives them GPS coordinates. Not only that, they feel NO REMORSE when they do kill kids because all they did was press a button on orders from above.
3. They come mostly from the lowest classes in the U.S. in terms of family wealth and education. They are blindly patriotic (racist nationalists is more correct) and think the U.S. government can do no wrong. This is total bullshit. You shouldn't have pride in your country because YOU WERE JUST BORN THERE BY CHANCE. If you've ever tuned in to a country music station you'll know what I'm talking about.
No I don't appreciate the job they do because millitaries are ment for the DEFENSE of a country not randomly invading and building up other countries. If the U.S. was ever in any real danger, they'd just reinstate the draft anyways.

I agree with you except you are placing the blame in the wrong place.
It's not the dumbfuck, yokel, retard, inbred, cross-eyed, bucktoothed, lemming, rednecks that are at fault.
It's the fucking administration putting them there. Of course we are getting war atrocities and terrible mistakes. If they were not there in the first place we would not be dealing with this shit. I'm just waiting for how many times we have to lap the death toll of september the 11th for this assfuck administration to finally get some punishment for all this.
No reason for Iraq at all. Big fucking mistake. Afganistan was a nice start but we fucked up, I don't care what you have to say. Vietnam 2.

What's "random" about it? Western Civilization is at war with Islam, and while Dubya may not be the brightest guy ever to hold the office, at least he understands that the West cannot win if we do not seize the initiative and take the offensive. We're at war with ALL of them--Libyans, Saudis, Pakistanis, Iranians, Iraqis, Palestinians, Yemenis. And we're attacking the weakest ones first, as any general or historian will tell you is the proper plan.
Islam is a terrorist ideology, an ideology of conquest and genocide. And they thought we were too weak to strike back at them. They're learning they were wrong.
If I may paraphrase Arthur "Bomber" Harris:
"The Islamonazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb and kill everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb and kill them. At Munich, Tel Aviv, Lockerbie, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, the World Trade Center, and half a dozen other places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind."
muslims being mad at us is like a bunch of retarded savages with spears way on the other end of the world being mad at us. Its a threat that is largely made up by the neocons to scare people. Are they dangerous? Sure, but not worth invading a country.
You know, those guys who blew up that building in Oklahoma City were white Christian Americans. So, I guess white Christian Americans started a war with... ourselves? WTF? Those folks blowin' each other to smitherenes in northern Ireland? White Christians. Them Chechnians? I'm not sure what they are, but I'm sure they're not all a bunch of Muslims.
Racism makes for bad arguments. Sad that the powers that be actually listen to it.
It's a veiled barb at the effectiveness of U.S. troops. 300-400 rounds and the car isn't gone? You have to be pointing the other way to not vent a car with 300-400 rounds...
Hell, the windshield is still in one piece with zero holes.

That's not fair to Sir Harris. He was reponding to attacks by the clowns that attacked his country first. Has Iraq attacked the US?
Lots of journalists not imbedded (In Bed With) say the same thing:
"We Are Targets. Why?"

Good point. Furthermore, to lump Iraq in with Islamic extremists is unfair on it's base. Saddam was a secular ruler, pretty much the opposite of the "Islamonazis." Screwballs like Osama actually didn't like him because of this. Hell, I even heard that one of Saddam's advisors was a Christian (I'm not sure if this is true, perhaps someone can confirm/deny this). But at any rate, Saddam & his cronies had little in common with Islamic extremists apart from geographical location & skin color.

i am sick of this thread and its baseless stupidity
tariq azziz is christian, but was really more of a leader only for PR reasons. especially in regards to foreign relations like with the vatican. Sadam started using islam like republicans use christianity after gulf war, but came from the generation of secular nationalist arabs.
agreed, you cannot lump all of Islam into extremists, because that simply isn't true. Islam is just another religion, one of many, that uses itself as an excuse to attacks others "in the name of".
I agree that attacking Iraq was and still probably is the wrong thing. However >>14 is right, if we do not take an offensive position and an active role in this, we will be subject to more attacks by extremist factions, whom gain power from our inactivity.
Iraq is under the guise of "liberation for the people" but it's also serving as a point of presence for us out there, to tell every other country and the world that we will not just sit back and allow groups of nutjobs to wreak things as they please. Sometimes a little force is needed to prove a point. Sadly some of our soldiers and innocent people are suffering for it, which is sad.

As I type this masses of Iraquis are in the streets of Iraq chanting: "Death to Bush, Saddam, Blair!"
American soldiers are behind bomb-proof blast walls--watching.
While we've all been watchin' Dead Pope 24/7 things have gotten rather bad in the real world.
A challenge to all:
How many americans died this week?
Bonus points for why.

Faithfreedom may be on the right track as far as islam goes, but the standpoint he writes from is too emotional, talking about how muslims are not human and what-not. Read this:
And tell me the guy isn't an overly emotional nitwit. Everything must be reduced to good and evil, black and white, without going into the true facts of the situation.
That's how it works with right-wingers. Everything's gotta be ultra-simple. Because if things are complicated enough to require thought, it's hard to be a right-winger.

Name:

Another thing, it's possible that his emotional outlook might have been fostered by being raised a muslim. They are taught black and white, right and wrong ETC... and their emotional response is more highly valued than any intellectal analysis. Therefore, the analytical facility could be impaired from disuse (don't care what you think, you still act the way you were trained even if you have a new philosophy).
All in all, I think the guy is right, but his justification is creepy and overly angry.
