As some of you may or may not know. The BTK Killer was caught friday. Well living in Wichita, I followed up on the story,I was pretty much obsessed. I analyzed the communication he left,watched every little report,went over the data many times.
Well after he was caught I found out more about BTK who was known as Dennis Radar. The man himself interests me,how he was able to live two lives,how he pulled off the killings,just being the nice guy by day but stocking and killing women by night. Soon I just ignored the fact that he killed 10 people maybe even more and wanted to know about him and the killings.
Looking over the reactions I see things like "Pray for his family" "pray for the victim's familys." "His poor wife." then I see stuff like "I hope he burns in hell!" "They should kill the fucker fast!" And I see and wonder....how is that fair to him? From the reaction to friends and family I hear he was a nice guy,an asshole at times but just an all around normal joe. I sit and recall how he said a Demon takes him over and makes him kill. I myself dont believe in religion,but you can still have a mental Illness,maybe he was a schizophrenic? Maybe he just knew how to fool people into thinking good of him.
Sunday all I could think of was what he may be thinking, "What have I done?" or "It's over they got me." Then I get to thinking of his BTK side....maybe he's joking with the cops,asking for the lead nvestigator back in the 70's so they could "Catch up on old times."
I dont sit here and support his actions of killing but at the same time I can't help but feel sorry for him. Am I monster for partly supporting a killer?

Its not wrong to feel empathy, even for a serial killer nutcase. Its probably a good sign that you don't join the hordes of 'omg kill him with an axe and then piss on the remains' type of people. You do have to remember that the guy deliberately murdered a bunch of people though, and that might limit the amount of sympathy you'd have for him.

this guy is an idiot, if you are going to kill people, kill them and don't write letters to the media. This is classic "attention whore syndrome". 75% of women and 99% of attractive women suffer this syndrome. When a man has it, which is about 10%, he must get attention not by being whorish (because women don't fall for whorish behavior like men do), but by doing stupid shit.
Famous victims of male attention whore syndrome: everyone on "Jackass", shock muscians (eminem, maryln manson), BTK.
The attention whore killer, is like the internet troll, he gets attention, but remains anonymous incase his murder/troll is dubed "lame" ie, strangling an ugly crack whore. Similarly gouging out the eyes of an attractive sorority girl and raping her with a meat hook gets a "good" rating for the killer.
Remember serial killers in training, the more attractive the victim, the more media attention you get. This works for child victims too, kill an ugly kid, get a blurb, kill shirley temple make the front page.

Isn't it a little too soon to be making conclusions about what this guy who's been arrested did or didn't do, and what he does or doesn't deserve?
He hasn't been tried yet. The police could have arrested the wrong person--it happens every day.
Wait for the trial to be over. Wait for the jury to see all the evidence and decide. THEN talk about what this person does or doesn't merit. For all we know right now, the man they have on trial is innocent.

We have trials for a reason. Let the jury hear all the facts and decide what the truth is, THEN we can talk about what this guy deserves.

As old as my topic is I'll sageing it.
The other day I was lurking a messageboard for the local paper. This man made a topic about how he knew rader, how he was a family friend and despite what's going on he still sees him as a friend, he said(much like me) he doesn't agree with the killings and felt sorry for the victims. I swear the replys were so ignorant and hate filled, People were telling him he needs to question his judge of character, and so forth.
Now I live in Wichita kansas(if you didn't figure it out yet) and the word of god is favored over independent thinking. After reading the comments people posted to this person,it just got me thinking. Why do some people assume he is the scum of the earth? I think he suffers from Split personalties, and thats honestly you cant control, its a mental problem. There is a BTK World and there is a Dennis Radar World. The point I'm getting at is, I think its really not right to judge Dennis Radar the person untill the state can prove he is perfectly sane and was 100% aware of what he was doing.
I mean the man does have a family and his friends say he was a good guy. Why should we automatically think ill of him? because he killed? Once again I state I do not support what he did. I just think we should know more of his mental health.
He is having a pleminary hearing this tuseday,this might lead into what we know between BTK and Dennis Radar....maybe.
