Skillet vs. Three Days Grace: Too Similar?

First time posting on a text board, just so you all know.

I'm genuinely curious about something and you guys are the only ones I can think give good answers about music quickly.

Here's the question: Is Skillet as a band ripping off Three Day's Grace's music, or is it just a coincidence since they sing the same genres?

I ask this because I'm a fan of TDG and I'm thinking about downloaded Skillet, but I'm not sure and I don't want to listen to them if they're just jacking TDG's style.

BONUS QUESTION (optional): Thoughts on TDG?
