Thrash Metal

Anyone knows some badass thrash metal band of today? To me it seems like all the good music of this genre ended in the 80'ies (slayer, metallica, overkill, testament, sodom, megadeth, exodus). Hopefully you can convince me of the contrary...

You should check out black breath. They've got 2 great full lengths out, Heavy Breathing and Sentenced to Life which was release just last month. They're fucking killer though. I promise.

Check out Revocation. It's not 100% thrash, but borrows a shiteton of it. the best way to put it is they sound like pure metal. recommended to everyone and nobody.

Havok and Evile are two of the more well known 'new-age' thrash bands.
Exodus still puts out amazing albums.

Anthrax is from the 80's
Eluveitie and probably the rest of those bands are celtic/norse folk metal.

Trivium are not Thrash.

Check out Municipal Waste. They're crossover thrash. Their album "Art of partying" is a great starter album. A grossly underrated, and a personal favourite of mine, would be Rumplestiltskin Grinder. They're fucking amazing. Check out "Buried in the Front Yard". You will not regret it. Skeletonwitch is another great band. A lot of people have issues with the vocals but I think they're fine. Whoever says thrash is dead knows nothing about thrash. Sure, there's plenty of derivative and lifeless shit, but it's not like that was also the case in the 80's.
