Ban Music

Name: Anonymous 2011-07-08 6:52

Music is a drug that poisons our minds. Like weed, it makes us weak, passive, apathic, sick. It also makes us emotionally unstable and deranged, and generally disturbs our perception of reality. Music and entertainment in general is fed to us by the government, to keep us in check. They use music to control us. When was the last time you saw one of them listen to music? They don't, because they know how harmful it is.

I read you post and I was like shiiiiiiiiiii~

Reality check: Would you rather revolt against the government, or listen to music ABOUT revolting against the government?
Instead of actively doing something in the real world, you are kept busy dancing inside your vat tank.

Isn't just music. All forms of entertainment make you complacent. That is why someone who lives a spartan lifestyle is more determined in all things he does, because he is less distracted.

This is fundamental. Doesn't mean the government made T-Pain. People in power are just more entertained by hearing themselves than music.

The government didn't MAKE T-Pain, but unlike drugs, the government didn't BAN T-Pain. The government LIKES T-Pain, because he makes kids with problems stay at home, passively listening to rap-music over and over again instead of doing something of their life. T-Pain actually managed to upset the government back in 2007, when the cop became afraid that people attending the concert would be inspired by "Buy You A Drink" to actually start buying drinks - something they could actually do beyond dreaming about rap fantasies - whereupon T-Pain was immediately shut down by cops.

I agree, music is senseless subliminal noise. We should also ban all type's of dancing! dancing is the devils work! Let's ban books and films and lots of different philosophies too!

Speaking of philosophies: Why do you think the japanese government sent crazy people into monasteries and made them sit quietly and "meditate"? Buddism was the governments way of fooling the common people into not revolting. They made up some shit about reaching Nirvana and reincarnation, and the end result is that people went far, far away and rot away sitting on their asses.

"At some point, someone – the question of who lies beyond the boundaries of Jay’s book – put Benjamin’s perception together with the Frankfurt School’s general view, which Jay summarises as “the Institut came to feel that the culture industry enslaved men in far more subtle and effective ways than the crude methods of domination practiced in earlier eras.” "
