Need help writing something...

I've been playing guitar since last august and was thinking of writing some stuff but whenever I try, it turns out terribly. Does anyone have some advice on how to write stuff?

I tend to play cool stuff when im around other people playing music.... it doesnt matter if its terrible or if you keep looping the same thing...once you get more used to it you play better with other people and you can make stuff up on the fly

look for inspiration in famous guitarists, or bands you like.

may not be what you are into...but i usually smoke weed or have a beer or two before i jam with my band which really loosens me up and makes me less nervous about what i play... (you dont need to do that though)

try make a little project of one song and stick to it.

learn how to solo and progress through notes that tie in nicely with each other.

Stick to the major chords and major power chords. Typically you can find that a C with an Em sounds cool
