bass slap

Name: Anonymous 2008-10-16 9:07

heh, posting this sheet here, because by the time i wake up it'll be gone in /mu/

when i slap, i hear a distinct clicking of the string hitting against the fret, is there not enough clearance between my strings and the fretboard or something?

2 things: You're not slapping right or your strings are set too close.

You're welcome in advance.

oh shi- this is still here, anyways, i got my bass restrung at the store which fixed the clicking, but then i went to play it a few days ago and it was out of tune, so i tuned it... and now it's clicking again.. which i wierd because my tuner says it's in tune..

the tuner pitch is set at 440hz, theres some button wiht b.bb which i acutally have no clue wheat it does, but i assume it's a step thing, when i press it the setting changes from A, b, and bb ( b being that note shaped b) i'm guessing i fail at tuning?

i also failed to note that when i tuned it all the strings were waaay low, which i guessed meant it was tuned step(s) lower than standard, weird thing is, if i tune it lower i still get some clicks (like what you would get from a pop)

Maybe stop playing. Or set your bass up right.

Don't change these.
