"Basket Case" = Canon in D?

Does anyone have an instrumental version of Green Day's "Basket Case"?  The background music to that song sounds eerily similar to Pachelbel's Canon in D.

The sketch was pretty retarded.


More than half the songs didn't have the same chord progression as pachabel's canon, and almost all of them weren't originally in D.

Almost every popular song uses chord progressions based around the 1st, 4th, 5th and relative minor.

The sequence (if transposed to D) D, A, Bm, G was really the only part all the songs share, it's not that suprising that quite a few songs share that, it's a pretty obvious chord progression.
