hoesntly you can't define good taste because everybody has different tastes.

The music itself isn't good, its what you take from it. Someone could listen to punk, and just hear noise, take nothing good from it. Someone else could be completely enthralled by it and enjoy it in ways the previous person couldn't imagine. Replace "punk" with jazz, classical music, pop, death metal, etc etc. Considering how just about every genre has intelligent varied fans, its hard to say that there's good music. Pretty sure you could listen to children's music or tribal chanting and get something worthwhile from it.
Its not about finding good music, its about learning to be a good music listener. Different people find different specific genres hit them just right, gotta find it for yourself. As far as within a genre, usually when its considered "good" or "classic" or its just very popular, its usually the most accessible music to get something worthwhile out of within the genre, or offers the most from repeated attentive listening.
If you made this thread hoping to get a specific answer, a qualification by which you can instantly judge any music you hear and call it good music or bad music, sorry but you're out of luck. I know saying that "its personal" or that it "can't be taught" sounds like a cop-out answer, but good music is inherently personal. Just listen to stuff, pay attention to it, and enjoy it. Or if that doesn't work, keep looking for something that does strike your fancy immediately.
If you just want a recommendation for what I personally think is good music... Listen to Van Morrison's Astral Weeks. A lot. It's the greatest grower of all time.

My criteria is if you have been moved to tears by music (not lyrics) then you are worthy to judge what's good music and what's not.

Also if your a woman or emotionally unstable it doesn't count.

I agree with this guy. Any music that moves you is good music.

Hi, I am a 20 year old lesbian... I have had bad luck these past few months with finding a partner.  I'm starting to wonder If I am lacking game. Is my personality bland? Is it my style?  My dad doesn't think it's any of that mattter.  I went to the local gay club (to check out the scene) and a woman approached me (in her mid 20's) and asked me to dance...  I was soo nervous that I ended up leaving. I was hystarical driving back home.

Can anyone out there give me advice!?

THANKS!
