OK, it's traditional music of Bali. It has inspired early industrial music and one or two western classical composers. When I go to lastfm.com and type in gamelan, the first track is typical (yet the second track is always completely not what I wanted). Anyway another lastfm tip is to type in Throbbing Gristle, and interesting stuff I never heard before often follows.
