First off, 27, indie is great stuff. For those of you who don't know what indie is, its music from independent bands, ones not signed to record companies. Back on track, are you talking real emo, like Dashboard Confessional emo? cuz that shit's gay. But are you talking about like MCR and maybe like FOB(although i thnk theyre gay too). Cuz MCR and FOB are actually punk, in fact "emo" isnt even a genre. MCR is good, but i hate FOB, but im just makin a point.

This is my first look into /music/ and holy shit I thought the text board wouldn't be this awful.
I listen to real emo/screamo. 33 knows what he is talking about. God damn you people are ignorant about genres. Emo isn't that shit on MTV, the term was hijacked by marketing groups years ago from the original emotional hardcore. Emo isn't whiney songs about suicide. Emo isn't mascara and girls pants. Emo is hardcore punk with more intelligent lyrics (often about social and political issues) and more creative, intricate musicianship. Emo would be bands like Circle Takes The Square, Hot Cross, City of Caterpillar, Orchid, etc.
