Broaden my musical taste, dear ones!

Hello /music/, I'm getting weary of not having anything to listen to. I need some good bands and I don't know where to start. I'd try Pandora but a majority of the time I don't find it to be satisfactory. The Arcade Fire - Power Out and The Knife - We Share Our Mother's Health are two of the best songs I've ever heard. If someone could suggest some bands, that'd be nice.

Oh, and I'd like to add, I really like The Residents

When it comes to things like Arcade Fire, I'd second Decemberists. Pinback has a lot less energy but is pretty chill. Perhaps you'd like Islands or Mogwai? They're somewhat on the level of elaborate as The Arcade Fire, but really they're all on a league of their own.

Well I am sick and tired of my posts always being deleted. They are not all 'copy pasta' as I actually write them each time I come here. They are all commenting on areas of legitimate concern of mine and yet they are treated like I am juts another rude and annoying 'troll' what just coming here to post rediculous stuff. It is not acceptable and I am afraid I cannot stand for it any longer.
It has been to long that I am ignored and I have to insist that the site administration and programmers start to realize that and stop removing my serious postings and actualy show some respect for a member of this site who has been here for a long time. As a more regular member I have come to expect a better level of service and interaction with other members and of course the admins, but this does'nt seem to be what is really happening here.
I am truely sick of other members and even in some cases the admins making fun of, calling me names, (like 'muslim' and so on) harassing me and even deleting a post after I spent time and effort typing it. Well it will be the last time I can assure you that!
Like most of you here I come here to enjoy this fun place and its nice pleasant atmosphere without the fear of being abused, harassed, 'trolled' and called rude and annoying names. It has been a long time since I have felt safe and secure browsing this site in the knowledge that this is the case. You people all know who I am talking about, there are a lot of you rude people just coming here to annoy people and insult other users and even more have been coming here recently.
I for one think it is time the internet admins and service providers started blocking access to the internet for people what are just going to be annoying rude and post stupid messages and pictures that are not anime or hentai. This is what will be happening soon if people around here don't start behaving and acting there age, and I will be reporting to the service provider of the site admins so they will have a little bit of answering to do I think! Even here on the 'web' people should be allowed to feel safe and not have to worry about viruses or rude insulting people coming in and ruining the experience for them.

Arcade Fire is a band of nerds thinking that adding weird instruments to their music makes it good.

Try early In Flames. That's Clayman and earlier. Go out of your way to procure their instrumentals.

lord gore... portland oreagan grindgore look for the album resickened fucking impossible to find but well worth it

MC Gusto is right with Boards of Canada, Electronic is usually a really great genre to get into because there is some really creative artists.

Maybe try The Magnetic Fields...

I'm not OP but kinda enjoyed Cautionary Song from the Decemberists.
I've no idea if it will please you/you don't already know them but I suggest Cold War Kids, maybe the Spinto Band, and I don't know much about electro but maybe you could be interested in Freezepop, Echo Kitty or LCD Soundsystem.

Yeah totally agree with Boards of Canada, those guys are amazing and very easy to listen to. The Australian electronic group Seekae are also really good and somewhat similar to Boards of Canada. Maybe the albums Kid A, In Rainbows, Hail To The Thief and King of Limbs by Radiohead. Millionyoung, Shitao and Son of a Bricklayer are great also.
