wow i almost fell out of my chair laughing at that one. Tool is a gimmick band..nothing more nothing less. Their music is shit, nothing but ambient soundscapes and tribal drumming over a shitty distorted guitar. Maynard leaves his lyrics bleak and depressing so he can gobble up millions from stupid kids around the globe that buy into marketed spirtuality, not to mention he has absolutly no range and no ability to preform live.
Kingcrimson was one of the finest bands ever made..every song is very detailed. Lead by guitar god Robert Fripp--who emphasises song writing, as opposed to banging his distorted guitar and hoping for a sweet sound. Tony Levin was a bass god and true chapman stick pioneer. Bill Brudford anyone? in b4 danny carry is god (hes not)

Tool is one of those bands that I don't like the majority of but i absolutely LOVE 2-3 of their songs, namely Aenema and Sober.
I really can't get into most of their shit but I can see why some people do and they play one of the best live shows ever.
