They created and influenced a lot of bands who came after them.
I guess you could compare them with bands like Black Sabbath, Kiss++

Zeppelin is definitely overrated. They really get way too much credit than they deserve. Jimmy Page's solos are long and drawn out, but for what reason? They're sloppy and just shit. Most of zeppelin's songs are trash anyway.

OP is ignorant in regard to great musicians and bands
Page is highly recognized as a top 10 guitarist of all time.
Bonham is also praised in the drumming community for not only his technical skills but his style. He played with pure emotion and really loved his job.
Let me guess, you think Dragonforce is the greatest band ever. Or you believe you are some music elitist because you listen to obscure death/black metal bands.
Why do so many geeks like the 70s so much (minus disco)? And they say how music started to suck in the 80s, 90s. and 2000s. And they flaunt how they listen to older music than their parents.

The thing to remember about Zeppelin is that their fans are ignorant. Zeppelin did many great things, and some terrible things, and their fans are rarely capable of telling the difference. Examples of amazing things are We're Gonna Groove on 1/9/70, all of Led Zeppelin II. Examples of bad things are 27-minute-long Moby Dick drum solos, Page wailing over too-long guitar solos. But their fans will praise Bonham's skills even after 20 minutes of a mediocre drum solo with no end in sight, and will be delighted at a meaningless, wordless, ear-splitting screech from Page, while still being impressed at the truly wonderful vocals in Thank You and the guitar solo in the studio version of Stairway to Heaven... because they honestly can't tell the difference.
Look dude, I've been playing drums for over twenty years, and listened to the drums on every kind of music, and in the end Bonham is in the Top 3 drummers of all time. So find me a better solo than the one in Moby Dick

Toad is a better solo, but that's irrelevant. Nobody can make a good, half-hour-long drum solo. It can't be done, Bonham was a wanker for trying, and his fans are idiots for pretending to enjoy it. He was one of the top 3 drummers of all time, but that does NOT mean he can solo for 20 fucking minutes and not bore the shit out of anyone with taste and honesty.

Bands with 2 drummers are the only ones that can make a 20 minute drum solo interesting ie Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers,The Nigger Boners etc..

Drum solos are boring anyway. All it's saying is "Congratulations, you beat the shit out of your drums with almost no pattern or steady beat. I wish I could pretend to be 5 and flail around like you do."

OP you're fucking stupid. You probably just don't like Led Zeppelin and say ignorant shit like this because it's the "different" thing to do.
Led Zeppelin has gone down in history as one of the greatest musical ensembles in history. Page is easily recognizable as one of the guitar greats among peers such as Clapton and Hendrix; he was also a master producer and did his own to innovate the craft. Bonham, like Page, is a frequent influence to drummers around the world and offered not only a technical prowess to the instrument but a style only few are able to capture. John Paul Jones, a multi-instrumentalist, tore shit up with his bass and has a firm standing of respectability among musicians to this day. To say that they had mediocre skills--I don't think you quite realize and a truly fucking stupid statement that is.
You probably owe it to Led Zeppelin for spawning all the shit you listen to anyway. Oh well, maybe someday you'll learn something about music.
