Horowitz is not "white music;" he was a Jew.

I truly think blacks are superior in the field of music, they have been the predominant influence in the shaping of modern music having invented almost every genre in the last century; from the Blues to Rock N Roll. Even being a minority in the US and facing very huge social barriers like extreme racism and poverty, they managed to basically invent modern music from the Blues onwards. Even things we take for granted in music like drum beats, to my knowledge, was found first and popularized in black music. Needless to say your modern white rock band wouldn't exist without the black pioneers of the past.

In terms of musical quality compared to white music; well this comes down to personal opinion and I can only offer my own. All I can say is I have never been a fan of white rock music and really don’t understand the attraction of such soulless music. The only emotion the music seems to be successful in conveying is angst. Black music (soul, jazz, funk and good hip hop) is beautiful and moving to me. I'm writing this listening to Marvin Gaye's classic "What's Goin’ On". I can’t think of any modern white artists who give me the same pleasure as I get from listening to this masterpiece.

Resting upon the laurels of past white classical composers is unfair. I have no doubt that if blacks were free in western societies in those days (prior to the 20th century), that they would have made outstanding contributions to music before the 20th century too. When living in a mud hut in Africa it is hard to create musical masterpieces. Blacks needed western instruments and a bit of musical theory to propel their disproportionately brilliant musical talents.

The argument that all music originated from blacks is just typical white guilt bullshit.

Classical and medieval music anyone? All blacks did was grab some white-made instruments laying around and aimlessly bang on them for whitey's amusement for a handfull of decades. Nowadays all blacks do in the field of 'music' is rap and little else, but all is pure shit.

whitey, on the other hand, developed a whole parafenalia of genres, opera, classical, rock, metal, punk, neoclassical, electronic, techno, pop, i could go on and on.

All this attempt to make blacks feel good about themselves for creating something is nothing more than preposterous and a side-effect of white guilt.

Spoiler: blacks didnt invent peanut butter either.

Blacks invented rock and techno. Techo they flat out invented. Rock may have had "mixed" influences in it's creation but the first rock artists were certainly black.

I am no white guilt riddled liberal, i'm only arguing blacks have an aptitude for music.

Aptitude? everyone can have aptitude, even women.

The thing is. . .that the white man has always thought of himself as superior to others in race, color an sex, therefore most genres or styles are acknowledged to them, because they were the only ones that could DO it (remember slaves and women submission? yeah, it's not that old.)

Yes, Jazz and Blues are awesome ideas for music made by black people, but they had to suffer the experience of oppression and injustice to do something of that character.

Sadly, we'll know very few about "alternative" composers or musicians from before the XX century, but hey, at least we're getting more equal as time goes by.

"Blacks invented rock and techno"

Blacks invented techno?
You're not a guilt ridden liberal you're just plain stupid, quite possibly got your pride stung by op.

Protip: Chopin and pop rap? It was a joke.

Only an idiot would argue about race being a precurser for musical talent. Way to go prove how fail 4chan is nowadays.

I'll sum up what you think "Da whities hav no flava flave funk liek da black man".

So are you telling me this passage from wiki is untrue?

Techno was primarily developed by "The Belleville Three", a cadre of men who were attending college, at the time, near Detroit, Michigan. The budding musicians – former high school friends and mix tape traders Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson – found inspiration in Midnight Funk Association, an eclectic, 5-hour, late-night radio program hosted on various Detroit radio stations including WCHB, WGPR, and WJLB-FM from 1977 through the mid-1980s by DJ Charles "The Electrifying Mojo" Johnson.

All of the afforementioned people are black.

"Primarily developed", "originated", "invented"? These terms are all used interchangably.
