Indie

No, not everyone chooses Indie bands to be, "unique". I like what they have to say, they cover matters that aren't as simple that most other stupid bands like Blink182 or whatever do, like for example, The Strokes or Rilo Kiley (who are amazing).
Somebody post really good Indie bands that they love so I can listen to them@_@

Look the thread is going to be over in 5 fucking seconds; The Best 'Indie' Band is...

THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE.

They're the fucking Velvet Underground of the 90's and Anton Newcombe is like three Lou Reeds, he can play over 80 fucking instruments and is a musical genius and he's done more heroin than a scag-baron and he still looks like he's in his early 20's and he's just turned forty. They're fucking insane and if you disagree you voted for Hubert Humphreys and you killed Hendrix.

I'm so Indie, I rode my sisters bike to go shopping at value village, then i decided to get a job there.
Then I went to open mic night at the local coffee shop.

Name: Michael {Wykal} 2007-02-19 4:36

Lmao! You sure did sum up Indie there>_>
Well...I'm so Indie that...I wear a scarf when it's hot out?>_> I don't know<_<

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-20 19:25 ID:CwfBBbmh
Bright Eye's songs are too lyrical genious to be emo
Name: Michael [Wykal] 2007-02-21 1:09 ID:o1bAgVv1

Um.......What is that supposed to mean? Like I said, emo music doesn't really have the most amazing lyrics...they usually just deal with Raw emotion, and Bright Eyes is basically like real true poetry, so what are you trying to prove?>_>

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-21 10:08 ID:T4Wbgs8N

Indie actually means "independent rock", which is alternative music without a major label. It doesn't mean it's always a certain 'way' (like Industrial, or something)

Choosing artists/bands by their 'genre' is the worst way to explore music.

Also, 'emo' is the worst genre created ever. Fucking teenagers.

Name: Michael [Wykal] 2007-02-21 22:00 ID:o1bAgVv1

That's not completely true...I mean, it kind of is halfway, but
The Strokes are MAJORLY huge, so are the Subways, both are Indie, so it can also mean like, basic instruments, but not so basic sound, but most indie bands are, like you said "Independent rock" without super huge "we'll play your song in wal-mart for a quarter million dollar" labels >_>
