new age/ambient music

what are some good artists in this field of music?

ambient = tetsu inoue, brian eno, aphex twin (SAW1/2), facil, monolake, Namlook, sostrah tinnitus ... those and more...use google and music map and shit.

also,

new age = massive fail.

new age and world music are still good. The instruments they use are far greater than any electric guitar.

New Age is okay, but I wouldn't buy too heavily into it. The "new age" is quite old and tired.

A couple other bands that are good to check into: Boards of Canada and Sigur Ros. Sigur Ros, in particular, is growing more and more popular due to a good number of films using their songs.

Moby (Play). By the way SAW by Aphex Twin stands for Selected Ambient works, in which his first SAW album is the best IMO. Surfing on Sine Waves by AFX/Polygon Window is also good.
