best live singers and performers?

what artists

do you consider to have excellent live vocals?

and put on interesting and varied live shows?

i love it when there are different versions of songs played on the stage, or fused with other songs. hearing album versions is just boring imo.

I see The Who put on quite a show considering their age.

Alice Cooper
Garth Brooks (He rocked the fuck out for a country artist.)
Iron Maiden

Dave Matthews Band. Their live stuff is many times better than any of their album stuff.

Radiohead puts on an amazing live performance

saw Sufjan Stevens recently, they played a lot of unreleased stuff in concert. Also saw Godsmack. The lead singer came out and played an extra set of drums and played songs such as war pigs. Was pretty amazing.

Boston

Not one of my favorite bands, but they sound almost exactly the same live as they do on their CDs.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-24 11:46

Iron Maiden, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Cradle of Filth (By that, I mean that they sound the same live as they do on their studio albums).

Slipknot can't sing live, but they're still the best band ever (except for Iron Maiden and Slayer).

Patent Pending and pretty much any ska band owns live.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-04 16:18

YESSS, big D is really good live

Anal Cunt should be the official music of /b/

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-07 2:41

Weird Al puts on a pretty kickass live performance...

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-08 2:34

Rancid are pretty good live, very energetic. The only bad thing is Tim Armstrongs singing, but when lars sings its hell good. Also Matt Freeman always throws out a huge bass solo, its fucking awsome

Yeah, Armstrong's voice seems to get worse and worse every album. But then again, Rancid wouldn't be the Rancid you know without him and his unique voice.

I've seen a couple great concerts. Opeth was insane live, so was Blind Guardian (though I think this was due more to the crowd than anything else). Weird Al was awesome, too.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-11 19:04

opeth ftl -_-q

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-12 22:22

Rod Jackson from Slash's Snakepit is really good live. Look up the Ain't Life Grand concert on youtube
