So I'm browsing up on heavy metal trends on wikipedia and I come across the topic of "folk metal". "Folk metal, what the hell?" I say. A bit more tracking and I come upon the name of a band called Mael Mórdha. I search the bejesus out of the web and barely manage to dig up any more information. I would like to be able to find a sample of this phenomenon known as "folk metal" perhaps someone can provide some samples of this music genre or perhaps knows how to obtain some CDs of Mael Mórdha?

Haven't heard of Mael Mórdha myself, but if you want some Folk Metal, i'd suggest Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Finntroll or just do a google search for folk metal.

Asmégin for Norwegian folk metal, otherwise the Finnish bands are pretty much the best. Moonsorrow, Finntroll, etc.

i love me some Finntroll. there's just something about hearing metal that has an accordian as a back-up instrument

Thyrfing's newest release is excellent, although I guess you'd call it "Viking Metal." (viking/folk frequently crossover eachother, so what the hell. either way, it's an AMAZING album.)
