Not all electronic music is techno. Techno is used by some people as a catch-all term for anything that doesn't have guitars in it, but that isn't what it means. Modern techno is usually made up of short loops of heavy, sythesised percussion and very little in the way of melody. For example: Thomas Krome, FLR (a Ken Ishii side project), Speedy J, Adam Beyer. It's a very distinctive, and not particularly popular, style of music. It is also a million miles away from daft punk.
