Favorite Electronic Artists

Some of the greatest albums for many of the up-and-coming DJ's and bands came out in the past year. Some old favorites, some new surprises, but what were your favorites?

5) Crystal Method - Legion of Boom
4) Chemical Brothers - Push The Button
3) The Killers - Hot Fuss
2) Fatboy Slim - Palookaville
1) Air - Talkie Walkie

A couple that didn't make my list but deserve mentioning include the new Prodigy album "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned", The Postal Service's "Give Up". Tiesto has just released a new album, but it's nothing to write home about, and it appears Jokenfold (Paul Oakenfold) may be picking up steam.

And I think the Killers are electronic enough to be put on the list, by the by. ;-)

Electronic music is the bulk of my musical tastes, so I like tons, across many different subgenres.

I could never compile a list of specific artists though :\

Uhh, so, I'll transplant a post from SA about what someone had to say about Autechre, from the thread "Have Autechre lost their way?".
I somewhat agree with them, but I like all their works depending on my mood.

Blatant disregard of tired and overused IDM production techniques. More interesting texture and sound design. Incredibly intricate automating compared to older material that is technically interesting but somehow falls together just right to create music that is pleasurable to the ears, especially upon repeated listenings. Much deeper than older material, only begins to unravel itself after many listens. After that, the music sounds less "cold and mechanical", your ears become accustomed to it and you just generally love it. You have a much deeper connection to it than older Autechre material; it's like an extension of yourself. I love all their material, don't get me wrong, but they keep getting better and better.

However, the most likely to be real leak of Untilted (their new album) has me a bit disappointed if it is indeed real.

Recently I've been listening to Aphex's Analord series, Jimmy Edgar, Enduser, Kettel, Venetian Snares, DJ/Rupture, Curtis Chip, and Ratatat.
