Classic/Country/Southern Rock

Which ones do you like?

Billy Joel is pretty awesome (don't know if you'd classify it as "rock" to most young people today though)

Steve Miller Band is catchy (Jungle Love) and Foreigner are pretty good too.

Same with The Eagles (I don't see what's so great about Hotel California, but Take It Easy and Already Gone and Peaceful Easy Feeling are very good)

Creedence Clearwater Revival, Charlie Daniels, and Lynyrd Skynyrd are wonderful. I like The Allman Brothers Band's Ramblin' Man too.

For country, I like Willie Nelson's "Stardust" album and some Johnny Cash. I like a lot of Classic Rock, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles in particular. Steely Dan's 70s stuff was good too, but I don't know if you'd call that Classic Rock or pop.

I don't care for most country, especially now that it's manufactured corporate pop crap that comes out of the same process that produces boy-bands.  But on those rare occasions when I feel like listening to country, I want *real country.*  I want to hear Patsy Cline.  I want to hear Hank Williams.  I want to hear George Jones, and Willie Nelson from back when he was an outsider raging against the corporatization of Nashville thirty years ago.  I want to hear Elvis--today he'd be classified as a rockabilly country act, and he'd get zero media exposure unless he was willing to bite the heads off chickens onstage.
