I mostly listen to Duel Jewel, Gazette, Kagrra and other bands.

if Beck sang in Japanese all the time and not english that wouldn't make him straight american rock now would it? 

Let's say a bunch of american dudes form a VK band.  They sing in japanese, crossdress and put on makeup.  Would they be "american rock?"
