Refugee Determination

Name: GOV.UK 2013-09-07 20:41

"Refugee Determination - To be granted asylum in MEXICO as a refugee, a person must be outside his or her home country and have a well-founded fear of persecution. According to the Geneva Convention, the fear must not only be well-founded, the persecution must also be based on reasons of race, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion.."

1. I am fearful of persecution from an increasingly totalitarian UK government (people being put in prison for saying things on facebook.. no constitution.. websites being ISP-blocked at the whim of corporations.. I could continue)

2. I am fearful of persecution for my religious beliefs (or lack thereof). I live in a highly Muslim community and am fearful of violence and abuse

3. I am fearful of persecution for my race. I am white and live in a highly ghettoized community which consists mainly of British-Pakistanis and I have been physically attacked a few times because of my race. Recent threats involve death threats if I don't leave.
