Make some text boards.

There aren't enough English-speaking text boards on the internet.
I've written simple instructions here for setting one up:

Some could argue that it might fragment the already stagnant English text board community, but in reality it could help to stimulate it. When someone sees that there are a lot of a certain type of site, it makes them think that surely it must be good (argumentum ad populum). Plus, with added sites means added possibility of people finding stuff on search engines, especially if any of you know ENTERPRISE QUALITY search engine optimization. Someone who is introduced to one English text board might then become a part of other English text boards as well.

Telnet BBSes and Usenet discussion groups are pretty much dead (although Usenet is still popular for binaries), but don't let web BBSes die out too!

Go out there and make me proud. If you don't, then you're an anus!

Does this require a log in? I hate these login things, to much hassle.

No. I'm not talking about some phpBB or vBulletin board. I mean Shiichan-style textboards.

Wouldnt it be better to support already existing BBSes, than making lots of new ones that remain potentially empty?

Some peoples policies suck. Then some people like the control and feel like there legion cuz they have a crap forum.

You make it sound as if people are only capable of browsing a single website. And as I said in >>1 having more text boards could encourage people to get interested in them. If they see that only one or two of these kinds of sites exist, then they might be wary of posting on them. People tend to think that something's popularity is indicative of its quality. So having more English text boards would make them seem more popular. It's a logical fallacy, but it's effective for getting new people.
And, the more text boards there are (with admins who know a little about SEO), the higher the chance that someone will find one of these text boards on a search engine. And if they find one, they will most likely find others eventually.

So no, creating new ones will not remove support/posters from pre-existing text boards (you have to browse multiple ones since each one is so slow as it is), and new ones won't necessarily be empty.

People also think that as long as they have to pay for access that it implies better quality.  Of course this means registration forms requiring with personal information.

Don't change these.
