I got high. I got to thinking, "What if dogs think of some pet owners as slave owners instead." Now I'm not talking about the kind of pet owner that takes their dogs out to dog parks regularly or take them outside on hikes and walks. I'm talking about the owners that keep their pets housebound most of their lives. My thought process went like this. Let's start in the morning when you wake up. You go wake up your dog, maybe give them some food. They start the day thinking that this day it will be different. My owner will take me out to have fun today. But no, you leave. You go to work or school or just out with friends. As you walk out the door, you can see your dog looking at you with a sad face because you just crushed its dream. So there are two things that dogs do during the day, either because they are either very sad or very angry at you. Let's go with sad first. You leave your dog inside all day where it is just reeking with your scent, torturing the dog and reminding it that you aren't there. It's so sad; maybe it cries it way asleep. Or there is the alternative. Your dog gets really angry and destroys your things and shits in your house. Then when you get home, you get angry at your dog until it gives that guilty look and you forgive it. Then a short time later, your dog comes up to you as a gesture to go play and make up. You play with it for a short time best never leave the room you're in. Then you tell the dog to go lie down so you can do whatever you want to go do. That crushes its dreams for the second time that day. It goes to cry itself asleep again until you head back out to eat and feed your dog. Then after you eat, maybe you go watch TV. and sit there petting your dog because it now knows that's as much affection that it will get for the day. So it'll take what it can get. For many people, that's the end of the night that you'll hang out where you allow your dog to be. You go back into your room and sit on your computer again for a while with your dog finally feeling a small amount of affection, can fall asleep a tiny bit happy. You then go to sleep. Your dog then has all these happy little dog dreams of just playing in a field with you and only you and you dream about fucking that hot new person at work or in one of your classes. Your dog wakes up feeling just as happy the next day as it did the day before and the day before that, hoping that it's dream will come true that day before you inevitably crush it's dream once again.
Or then again maybe dogs aren't as smart as we think they are and they forget everything right after it happens.
