But immigration is good for the economy!! Think about it. An immigrant comes here and gets a job cleaning earning £12,000 a year so they pay about £3 grand in tax.

They've got kids so we then give the family about £5 grand in tax credits, school the kids at cost of £6 grand a year each and pay all their NHS bills etc. We also then pay the British person put out of work a few grand a year in benefits and pay their rent.

So the immigrant pays in £3,000 and costs the taxpayer about £30,000. Thats good economics isnt it? Yours sincerely Ed Balls.
