Scheme – more harmful than useful?

Name: Anonymous 2012-01-16 6:55

I don"t think it is a good idea to start teaching people scheme. Modern programming involves OOP and classes, and scehme will teach bad coding styles, and most kids would lose interest at (display "Hello World!").

The concept of class is so amorphous as to be barely cogent, and the style of variable with dots between words that come from lists and sublists and sublists of maybe hundreds of characteristics is a gigantic pain in the ass.  Instead of a mouse, he uses a wireless buttplug upon which he wiggles and clenches to effect navigations.
