words and pictures and worth

Someone said, "a picture is worth a thousand words."  Now consider a word, such as potato.  Such a word is evocutive to any reader of the language, such that a mental image arises.  A mental image, or picture, that itself is worth a thousand words, presumably.  Ergo, a word is worth a thousand words.
