New Zealander here. That's true, but on at the extremities of each "island "(it's racist here to call the north & south islands, everybody calls them Ngfhaathcoo & Hwfgraathcoo in NZ). I live in Wellington which is in the middle of the country almost exactly, the season doesn't change at all here no matter what season. Absolutely no variation on temperature or rain/sun ratios ever.
