has anyone here enjoyed a Pokemon game since the 20th century ended?
the original batch of Pokemon games were an amazing experience because of (1) the novelty factor (2) the social factor.
everyone played it, so you had an ulterior motive behind training your team of favourite pokemon - to humiliate your friends the next day.
i'm sure 10 year olds enjoy their first Pokemon game just as much as most of us did 10 years ago. but for us, those 2 factors are gone, and Pokemon has become just another repetitive grinding rpg.

:3 I just discovered Pokemon in the 21st century because I never gamed until after the 2000's. I still think it rocks.
I've played Red and Blue back in 1998-2000 when they were quite popular, and some of the Gameboy Advance versions, but haven't played since. I thought about playing the new ones that came out for DS earlier this year.

I play with a talking Pikachu plush toy. You pinch her hand and she wiggles and talks! And her cheek circles light up! She is so soft.

A pokémon is a rat that shoots lightning and shit. Pokémon is a game where you capture these creatures using mind-control devices and make them fight each other for your amusement.

Pokemon is a bunch of games for children, losers, and pathetic manchildren.
Well, for once I can agree with an individual who posts on these usually autistic-populated boards.
Pokémon and its derivative works should only be seen by children. But of course children are most susceptible to environmental cues, so it would be safer for the developmental path of a healthy man to not have been swayed at all by this inferior overseas garbage.

lol nob. i take it a step farther. i play games only made by EA. beat that.
Hmmm... I beg to differ! Lotus Turbo Challenge was far more entertaining. And so was skitchin. And yes that is a racing game. You race against the clock.

HOW CAN YOU RACE AGAINST A CLOCK, THAT DOESNT SOUND FUN
CAN YOU SPRAY MACE IN THE CLOCKS FACE AND THEN BRAKE WHILE THE CLOCK ROLLS FURTHER AND FURTHER AND THEN DRIVE OVER THE CLOCK TO MAKE IT ROLL FURTHER SO THAT THE CLOCK HAS TO RUN A LONG DISTANCE TO GET BACK ON ITS BIKE?

You have to keep in mind that pokemon is aimed at kids. Even if it wasn't and you were able to kill anything you fought, that would really suck because if you came across somebody who uses an AR (or w/e cheat device is out there) to hijack their pokemon's stats, that level two pidgey wouldn't have even been phased by that hyper beam and would just rip through that gyrados body with a tackle as if it were made out of paper.
Tell me, do you want to see your level 100 gyrados be ripped in half by a level 2 pidgey?

Oh, that was the point of the comic? In that case, it's totally retarded. It would suck if Pokemon died, you'd just have to go catch another one and it would be impossible to train them.
You might as well take issue with every game that takes you back to a checkpoint or savepoint everytime you die.

I think the comic is just mocking the use of the word ``fainted'', when in all manly hardcore games when you run out of HP and fall unconscious for a few minutes/seconds it's called death.
