I've noticed it too. To a degree, it's happening on the rest of world4ch on a wider scale to a certain degree as well. I think it has a lot to do with 4chan becoming extremely popular (much more so than it was just two years ago) and we're now getting spillover from the imageboard. World4ch really needs to be its own separate site again, in all honesty.

Just throwing this out there but I think there should be a test for entry to the text boards.
If youtube was around before you started to use the internet and/or you were born in the '90s it should mean an instant permaban from this place. In fact, it should also mean a permaban from all imageboards besides /b/.
The quality of posts and ORIGINAL CONTENT would just rise and rise to stratospheric heights if this were to happen.
Or failing that why not just have a 10bux = membership and get better mods like they have at SA. That whole board is perfection thanks to quality moderating and the need to pay keeping all the not yet fully developed humans away.

While I agree, charging to post anonymously here would defeat the entire purpose of this site, which was probably created because of Something Awful starting to decline as one of the reasons. It is far from "perfection".
Not to mention your ideas are nothing new, and I'm sorry to say, in all likelihood won't ever be implemented.
