High exposure to Mercury = Homosexuality?

An article I found while browsing some daily news.

1. Do you think this could actually be true?

2. If mercury in the environment could really be a cause, does that mean we will see a decline in the occurrence of homosexuals in the next decade or so as clean up of toxic waste progresses?

3. Does this raise the possibility of nullifying homosexuality by the injection of various cocktails? (No pun intended... haha.... no thats actually quite terrible)

I wonder if this correlation also applies to humans being exposed to mercury. Did the Roman Empire suffer from high levels of mercury when the Roman senate passed a bill legalizing same sex marriage or relationships? Homosexuality was accepted as socially normal being the Roman Empire's collapse. Perhaps homosexual couples should be tested for the amount of mercury in their blood to propose some sort of hypothesis.

Actually, high levels of Mercury in the drinking water has been proven in the Roman Empire.
Their aquaducts were lined with lead.

Lead and mercury poisoning drives people batshit insane.

Oh, I knew about the high amount of lead during the days of Rome. It's amazing how it was able to function at all with such a poisoned population.

No. It's true. Western Civilization has been plagued with lead contamination for over 2,000 years. It's only been during the last century where it's been carefully taken care of.

Don't change these.
