I hate straight people sometimes.

I have a straight roommate. He's older and divorced. I'm gay and just out of a long-term relationship myself. We have a great friendship and I can honestly say it's the best living situation I've been in while living single.

Anyhow, he was traveling to Chicago to visit some of his family. Since I find Chicago to be a wonderful party town, I asked to tag along, and he thought it was a great idea. I'm very matter of fact about setting people straight when they ask me what I think of a particular girl or start making offers to hook me up. It's just how I have to be to enjoy life.

Well, now his ignorant straight family is all on to speculating about whether or not we're fucking at the house, which for the record, we aren't. It's not even something I allow myself to think about knowing he likes women and it would make it impossible for us to be friends. But now he's getting uncomfortable and kind of upset with me. Asking why I couldn't just be "in the closet" just for the trip.

God this is so fucking annoying.
