any experience catching excaped hams

So anyone ever have an excaped hamster problem?  And you got your hamster back into the hamsterarium?  I was thinking that some kind of bait would coax it back in there.  Any tips about how to what to do for hamster baiting?

If it's inside, it will eventually come back to its "hamsterarium".

If it's outside, buy a new one.

It varies depending upon your situation. From my experience, I've had one hampster fall out of its "hamsterarium" and hide under my bed. Another, ended up in my closet. My current one ended up in the kitchen pantry through a hole where the small kitchen televison sits, after giving it a bath, he decided to climb out of the kitchen sink and go exploring.

What's common about all these cases is that they went towards places that were dark, so any place that's dark (even during the day) around his hamsterarium I would search around right away.

Don't bother looking for it during the day, just put food in it's cage and stay up for a night, they are nocturnal so as soon it gets dark you'll see him start running around.

Actually, looking for it during the day might be a better idea, since they're busy sleeping. Just look in a dark place around the area, because that's where they usually end up when they escape. Check all cubby holes, nooks and crannies.

Also, OP, make sure to put weight on the lid of your hamsterarium so it can not escape again. You didn't say what type of enclosure you have, but for me, I have an old fish tank that I keep mine in, and I use an old flashlight + its food reserves, and that keeps enough weight on the lid to keep him from breaking out.
