Imageboards VS. Textboards

Alright, given the quality of the textboards why are the better then the imageboards?

IMHO from what i can tell most of the textboards are lame, i mean they have very few post(er)s.
Most of them are filled with spam and are abandoned.
It seems /prog/ is the only exception, with lounge approaching slowly to /vip/ quality.

From what i remember most of the imageboards are just iterative shit reposted, but some of that was quite funny, while few of the textboards are somewhat trying but failing hard.
It seems that imageboards are superior because of the number of posters, the more posters, the more it is likely that one poster can post something hilarious and others can contribute.

In any case, i want the old times back. make me laugh /lounge/, why cant we just be funny again.

This is nothing new, and we've discussed this before. What is needed is to invite people who would appreciate textboards and post interesting things, and contribute. You're not going to find these people on the imageboards, so finding them outside 4chan/world4ch/ and imageboard/textboard culture is needed.
