Why is possession of child pornography illegal?

The majority of Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians etc. get angry when people are arrested for possession. I rarely find people that support criminalizing possession. So since most of you Liberals, Conservatives, Libertarians etc. support legalizing possession, why is it still illegal? Most of you support the idea of a national child porn website but oppose the sex registry.

I'm in the minority, I support criminalizing possession and support sex offender registries, but I'm pretty much alone on this. Since you are the majority, why have you not received your request for legalizing possession while abolishing the registry?
