Economists are useless

Predict the future? They can’t even say what’s happening now.

Economists only look at things from the perspective of their occupation, so that's why they're pretty much useless. What you need is someone who actually looks beyond just the economy itself and into things like geopolitics, family, consumer trends, foreign policy, etc.

We are fucked. What else is new?

They're worse than useless. Just announcing a rumour could destroy a company and lead the economy into a decline.
