This is actually a valid question.
There is only a slight layer of shitty taste before you get to taste the skin of the anus. The transition from the skin of the buttocks to the skin of the sphincter is interesting. Also, when you penetrate the anus with your tongue, there is a slight trepidation at what may cum next. Butt it is worth the while.
