The Arizona law actually mirrors the Federal law, the only thing that's changed is it now authorizes its police force to enforce it. Randomly stopping those who are of Hispanic descent and asking if they have ID is considered discrimination, but not if the police have a valid reason (like vehicle swerving from side to side, suspicious activity, etc.).
An argument that sad to say I don't hear a lot from people is that not enforcing the problem of illegal immigration is also unfair to those who were willing to come here legally and went through the process. Legal immigrants really suffer from this than natural born citizens I'd say.
