Is it just me, or when you wake up at 4:30 in the morning to watch the UEFA champions league on SBS and you get David Basheer commentating a little part of you wishes there was a button to turn off commentary or replace him with a real commentator, like Martin Tyler. I don't know what it is. Perhaps today in the return leg at the Nou Camp in the game between Barcelona and Arsenal it pushed me over the edge. I think I know what it takes now to be an SBS commentator. First of all, be sure to pause about six times before finishing your sentence. For example, "Xavi, (pause) without a doubt, (pause) the, (pause) magician of this, (pause) wonderful, (pause) Barcelona team, (pause) wins the freekick, (pause) after a, (pause) circumspect, (pause) challenge from, (pause) Denilson. Second of all, use the word circumspect freely throughout the game. "The referee was circumspect at the Emirates", "another circumspect challenge", "a circumspect performance so far by Walcott" and so forth. What do you think? What do you think it takes to be an SBS commentator?
