is there any way we could revive the dead textboards and remove the spam?
i was thinking if we would clean them up a bit and propagate them , some people might start actualy discussing things.
and no we should not propagate them on the imageboards.
but i have no concrete idea how to do this really, its sad seeing so many boards filled with 1/2 year old spam.
and more posts on the other boards would not be bad either, sometimes i feel like there are only 5 people here.

Yeah it would be good. I dunno maybe moot could put up a global message on all boards but /b/ and tell them to post here. Or maybe moot could change the main page so that text boards are shown by default.
Otherwise you could canvass on some boards that have a good community. Maybe ask some 420channers to post here.
I actually like the textboards as they are. We just need mods to get rid of incessant spamming of /b/ memes, jeepers and the like.

i like them too very much as they are, but most of the boards are not even used and all of them could use some more post(er)s, but not much more.

I think the textboards should NOT have mods. I support the continuity of free speech on the internet, noting should be deleted it's just text.

Were you around for the recent wikipedia flooding? That stuff makes the board impossible to you use. We need mods to remove destructive spam. /b/ stuff like the jerkface meme is tolerable in my book, and should not be deleted, the community can just try to discourage it. Mods should have a hands off approach as much as possible.

What we need is people not responding to the /b/ trolling.

If you want moderation go back to the imageboards.

So you don't mind if all threads are ruined by post after post of KIKES or that wikipedia stuff?

Listen here, jerkface. The problem isn't the use of "jerkface", it is dongwarblers such as you that come in here, be intollerably rude, and then complain when we call you a jerkface in response.

i would do it but i have no idea how and when.
and first we have to cleanup the mess on these boards, else everyone will think these are just some collection of spam, which unfortunetly they are right now.

No[!] I don't want anymore people here. More people could mean more spam and boneheads, plus noobs wouldn't get the history and culture of good ol /lounge/! They'd be lost with all of our memes and wonky cents of humor!

It lost all activity after Milkribs stopped posting though. Plus the newbies can't learn to comport themselves in large numbers. It's like trying to get massive large numbers of immigrants assimilated into society — it just doesn't work.

if you dont do it in a large mass then it should work. im sure people who are not from The Imageboard will do just fine and might enjoy it here.
>>40
Perhaps. But only if they're familiar with other textboards, USENET, BBSes, or even newer people who have a genuine appreciation for such aspects of the Internet. You won't find many of them on the imageboards, I agree.
>>42
i think you are going too far. people who are not full of shit and have somewhat of a intellect and would enjoy nice discussions with some funny aspects would do just fine.
>>43
Well that too, I suppose. And yes, finding such people is a rather difficult task.

what discomforts me more is how to cleanup the abandoned boards? certainly we could post some good threads there to push the spam of the 1st page, but would the spam return?
and have really no idea where to find good people.
i really wish we could bring them back too life, but i have no concrete ideas how and what to post foremost.

Well, the funny thing is it's pretty bad on some boards since they have a low rate of posting. /games/, /tech/ and sometimes /comp/ come to mind. They're apparently Japanese spammers that think some of the world4ch boards are abandoned like their Futaba counterparts. They don't spam /sjis/ though, and that's a very slow board, probably the slowest out of all the boards here.
From general observation /prog/ and /lounge/ seem to be the most active. /newpol/ is as well, but probably wouldn't be as much if the Stormfronters weren't attracted to there. I'm in agreement with you, I really have no concrete way of bringing in more potential posters to world4ch without lowering overall quality. In my ideal plan, I'd separate this place entirely from 4chan as it were before, but I'm in no authority to perform such an act.
The obvious solution is more moderators that actually take the time of day to quickly browse these boards, but of course, that's easier said than done.
