man that brings back memories.. manliest movie for its time but I think ninja scroll was better. Much more believable action.
Now I get where double dragon ripped its idea from.

Two twin brothers who happen to fall in love with the same girl, fight for the right over who is more suited to protect that girl, by beating the crap out of each other to see who is stronger and the more worthy of the two, in a violent post apoc world where law has broken down and gangs rule over the people. Sounds very similar to Fist of the North star. heh

Of course, these brothers are more like martial arts students who are close to each other not related and not actual twins like in double dragon.
But the similarities are there in the enemy types.

You can consider FOTN star as a "double dragon anime with violent death moves"
