If post number >>2 in a thread is "fail. GTFO" that means that the poster has succeeded in sucking his own dick, replying is necessary to remind him of this fact. fail. GTFO only gets used as a last resort, if >>2 is lonely then the only way to draw attention to himself is to suck his own dick. Therefore leaving no option but to continue the thread until it has ended peacefully and ignoring the dick sucker.

http://dis.4chan.org/read/lounge/1216455240 has been amended already, automatically nullifying the mandate of this thread. Also,

Nope, that thread was started by a homo making the mandate null and FROZEN void. This is the only correct one.

Actually no.

In some certain cases, I think posting "fail. GTFO" in >>2 is a necessary evil, as a safeguard against the board becoming polluted with /b/ and DQN quality posting.[1] The original thread[2] makes its purpose pretty clear, though the big thing against it, is of course its use of "NEWFAGS" in the title.

This thread is just a satire of the original, and doesn't really have any bearing on the issue at hand.

I find that nothing stops that.

It is a rudeness that discourages new people to the lounge.  No wonder the place is usually lacking in new threads, as an unsuspecting person is rudely addressed.

>>17
Sir, while I agree, rudeness is awful, I'd rather have a bit of rudeness on the board, than to have it be smothered with /b/-quality postings.

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-14 16:25

>>18
Respond with some respect, perhaps suggestions for improved style, as rudeness itself is typical of /b/.

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-14 16:30

>>19
I have actually, and responses were mixed, some were willing, but more often than not, it was quite negative, and they would continue with their own form of rudeness and /b/-style posting. If you don't exert at least a bit of rudeness once in a while, people will take advantage and walk all over you. Since they see that as weakness.

Well when given a rude response, that's when it calls for admonishment, as in "listen here, jerkface."

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-14 18:18

These fags!

Actually, a "listen here, jerkface" was also not effective for the most part in lessening the negativity. In fact, often times it made it worse.
