the Amazon Kindle is a work of genius

i have no idea what technology they use for the screen, but it's absolutely brilliant.

it doesn't feel like you're reading from an electronic screen at all. i can't even see any pixels. it's exactly like reading words printed on paper, except that you can adjust the font size to make it even EASIER on your eyes.

you can easily spend hours getting absorbed into a fantastic story and your eyes won't feel tired.

i'm currently loading my Kindle FULL with fantastic books - all downloaded for free.

this eReader is the best purchase i've done in years

It's a little expensive! If it were cheaper I would consider it!

Come on, they're just text-based handhold devices with a little bit of hard disc space! Can't be that long before they become integrated with multi-purpose handhold devices that every man worth his salt will be wearing. But I won't be buying these silly Amazon kindles when I have all my favorite books at my local bookshop.

Nothing beats dead tree format wrapped in hardcover. Not only good for reading, but also for self defense. You could knock a man out cold with a nice unabridged Webster's dictionary.

How's the contrast? I have one of the Sonys from a year or two back, it's OK, just wish the background was a bit whiter.

Amazon can remotely delete your files from it. Enjoy your freedom.
