Overanalyzing an Email

So lounge, ponder my this ridiculous question of mine if you don't mind.

If someone were to send you an email asking if you are doing something later in the evening, does that imply that they are interested in doing something with you?

I.e. is it more akin to asking "Are you busy later?", which would suggest a desire to hang out, or "Any big plans for the weekend?", which would just suggest friendly conversation with no suggestive undercurrent.

If they want to hang out, and you're not doing anything later, then they'll probably ask you if you want to do something.

They are probably just wondering what you are up to! What kind of people are sending you these emails!

What they meant doesn't really matter.
You can control what you want to do.

Go out:
"Nope, wanna hang out?"

Don't go out:
Stop being a fag and take her out.
