I understand where you're coming from. We disagree, and that's fine. I'm just saying that being under such a system is not entirely detrimental to one's anonymity. Yes, it wouldn't be truly anonymous, however, I wouldn't equate having the old ID system turned back on with username attention whoring (i.e. tripcodes).

This board software was designed for anonymous posting.

Shiichan had this ID system implemented at one time.

If people want their posts to be attached to them they have the option, and I repeat, they have the option of using a tripcode.

Just as they have the option of using the ID system (using the sage function turns it off).

There is no forced anon or identification whether it be for the whole board or just a single thread. If you don't like this then please go away.

I never said I didn't like the current system. I'm just trying to understand why it's so adamantly opposed on here when the other "textboard" sites that have had it for years have no problem at all with this system. I just want to discuss the points of it, that's all.

Well I guess you've got your answer. This argument is quite one-sided. The general consensus here is they're against the ID system from the old days returning. They didn't give any other reason besides that it wouldn't be true or total anonymity, and just threw baseless insults. I guess having an adult discussion of this on here was too much to ask for. Such is much of the Internet. I doubt we're going to have anymore pro-ID people on board in this thread.
