I used to not wash that area between the balls and ass.  I never even thought about that spot until someone made a joke about.  Then I realized, "damn, I should probably start washing down there"

Yes, trim all body hair is good for you.  No need to shave close though-- you'll just give yourself rash and itch.  Get a wireless electric hair trimmer with adjustable guard.
