It depends upon what state you're currently residing in. In my state (New Jersey), the minimum wage is $7.25 which is the same the Federal Government requires.

In some states there is no minimum wage law: South Carolina, Tennessee, just to name a few don't have a mandatory minimum wage law.

Four states have minimum wage set below the Federal Government level.
